All-American Certified Angus Beef® Cook-Off
The 2008 National Junior Angus Show marks the 25th anniversary of the All-American Certified Angus Beef® Cook-Off. In celebration of the anniversary and due to product availability the contest will be changing back to the original concept and offering the contest with primarily fresh meat.
The three categories for the 2008 Cook-off are: Certified Angus Beef® steaks, roasts, and other items (includes: fresh ground beef, smoked slice brisket, and shredded beef).
Each state may enter up to three teams in each of the three age divisions but the teams will compete in one of these three categories.
Gather your recipes and make your entry by June 1 to be eligible for this year’s cook-off.
Graphic Design Contest
The theme for the contest is to design a one-page magazine advertisement to promote the state officer training, Raising the Bar. Note: This is different from the description originally printed in the green information packet. The green info pack incorrectly stated contestants need to design a brochure.
Community Service Project
The 2008 National Junior Angus Show marks the second year for the Ronald McDonald House pop-tab collection project. We look forward to beating last year’s collection of over 14 lbs, approximately 18.500 tabs, to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. We encourage you to start collecting pop tabs now, and bring them with you to Iowa!
